Ben O'Connor scored 63 seconds into overtime to give Guildford Flames a road win over Fife Flyers on Saturday night.
Drake Pilon got the only goal of the opening period with a five-hole finish after an Aleksi Makela stretch pass to send him through 1-on-0 with Taz Burman.
It was a lead that lasted until the 27-minute mark when Patrick Bajkov slotted home at the back post off a Matt Alvaro pass, before O'Connor finished off a give and go with Austin Glover to put the Flames ahead at 29:27. The Flyers struck back immediately thanks to a Max Humitz finish from an excellent Colin Shirley pass to the far post to tie things up just 25 seconds later.
With neitehr side able to win the game in period three, it was down to overtime to find a winner. Ben O'Connor obliged with a nice finish from a Ryan Tait pass to put him through on Kevin Lindskoug to earn Guildford the extra point.
