Goals and assists
Glasgow Clan came from two behind and scored four straight goals to
take control against Nottingham Panthers, but were left holding on at
the end to claim a 4-3 victory at Braehead Arena in front of 3,549 fans.
Hunter
Vorva made his debut for the Panthers after than injury in pre-season
that kept him out for three months. He watched on as his team took an
early lead with Hugo Roy firing past Landon Bow at 2:57 after excellent
work on the play by Didrik Henbrant.
It was a lead that the visitors doubled early in period two. Otto
Nieminen firing high past a screened Bow at 24:30 to put the Panthers
2-0 up.
Things unravelled for the Panthers in just over a two-minute
spell in the latter half of the period. Tic-tac-toe passing from Liam
Finlay and Tyson McLellan set up Cole Ully for a back post tap in to
bring Clan back into the game at 31:05. 126 seconds later, while
Mitchell Heard was in the box for Cross-Checking, Rylan Schwartz broke
free and beat Vorva shorthanded to tie the game in a period where the
Panthers saw shots from Roy and Logan Neilson come back off the iron.
Clan won the opening faceoff in the third and were ahead just six
seconds later - Steven Seigo setting up Ully for his second of the
night to put Clan ahead. Mitchell heart then beat Vorva blocker side at
46:11 to make it 4-2 with the home side's second powerplay goal of the
game. Matt Alfaro finished well to bring the score back to 4-3 just
under two minutes later to give the sizable Panthers travelling support
hope that their own comeback might be on.
In the final stages,
Vorva was pulled for the extra skater but 57 seconds of 6-on-5 didn't
find them an equalser, and Clan took the league points.
