On August 21, 2024, Hudiksvalls HC secured a solid 6-3 victory over Östersunds IK in a pre-season game at the Holmen Center, cheered on by 511 spectators. Hudiksvall dominated most of the game, especially in the second period, where their power play proved to be decisive.
Hudiksvalls struck first with a power-play goal just 2:57 into the game, courtesy of Axel Levander, assisted by Anton Schagerberg and Jesper Wiberg. The first period ended with Hudiksvalls leading 1-0.
Hudiksvalls extended their lead quickly in the second period. Jesper Wiberg made it 2-0 at 21:18, followed by another goal from Levander at 26:09, putting Hudiksvalls up 3-0. Östersunds fought back with two goals, one from Isac Hamberg at 27:14 and another by Adam Hirsch at 33:43, narrowing the score to 3-2. However, Hudiksvalls' Wiberg responded on the power play, scoring his second goal of the game at 35:53 to push the lead to 4-2 by the end of the period.
Hudiksvalls further extended their lead in the third period, with Levander scoring his third goal for a hat-trick at 42:34, making it 5-2. Östersunds responded with a goal from Casper Larsson at 48:13 to make it 5-3. However, Hudiksvalls sealed the win with another goal from Wiberg at 52:49, finalizing the score at 6-3.
