Big wins for USA and Czechia U17 in Piestany

The USA U17 team dominated Switzerland with a commanding 7-0 victory, featuring goals from seven different players, including a standout performance by Nathaniel Pederson with a goal and two assists. USA controlled the game early with a 2-0 lead in the first period and continued to pressure throughout, outshooting Switzerland 34-25. USA's goalie Ryder Fetterolf was flawless with 25 saves, securing a shutout while Switzerland struggled to find any offensive rhythm.


Czechia beat Germany 10-1, scoring three goals in each of the first two periods and adding four more in the third. Czechia's Nikolas Marik and Vojtech Svancar each netted two goals, while Germany's only goal came on a power play by Max Penkin late in the game. Czechia outshot Germany 30-21, with goaltender Frantisek Poletin stopping 20 of 21 shots.

Day 2 of the U17 tournament in Slovakia

The USA U17 hockey team dominated Germany with an 8-1 victory, outshooting their opponents 57-21. Germany's only goal came on a power play in the second period. William Bent and Cole Bumgarner scored two goals each for USA.

Czechia overpowered Slovakia with a 6-1 win, dominating the game with 45 shots on goal compared to Slovakia's 21. Czechia's Simon Katolicky led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Slovakia's only goal came in the second period from Matej Beres.

Big win for Slovakia

In the U17 tournament in Piestany, Slovakia dominated Germany with a decisive 8-1 victory in the 5-nations Piestany tournament held at Zimný štadión Pieštany. Slovakia took control early, leading 3-0 after the first period, with goals from Jan Curlej, Filip Kovalcik, and Ivan Matta. They continued their strong performance in the second period, adding three more goals to extend their lead to 6-0, with Matta scoring his second goal of the game.

Germany managed to score once in the third period through Simon Röckl, but Slovakia quickly responded with two more goals, including a power-play goal by Matej Beres, to seal the 8-1 win. Slovakia outshot Germany 27-18, and their goaltender Filip Vavro had an impressive performance, saving 94.44% of the shots he faced.

Switzerland U17 wins opener of 5-nations tournament

In an intense U17 National Team match between Switzerland and Czechia at the Zimný štadión Pieštany, Switzerland emerged victorious with a 5-3 win. The Swiss team took an early lead, scoring three goals within the first ten minutes, courtesy of Sol Fueter, Julian Fuhrer, and Maxime Sauthier. They extended their lead to 4-0 with a power play goal by Fabrice Bouvard in the second period.

Czechia fought back in the third period, narrowing the gap with three goals, including two on power plays by Simon Katolicky and Ondrej Ruml. However, Switzerland sealed the win with a second goal from Sol Fueter shortly after Czechia's third goal. Despite Czechia outshooting Switzerland 36-20, Swiss goaltender Yannis Zambelli's strong performance, saving 91.67% of shots, was crucial to Switzerland's victory.

Russia wins U17 tournament

Russia beat Czech Republic, Slovakia and USA to win the 4-nation tournament for U17 teams in Piestany.

Results: Czech Republic - Russia 0-3, Slovakia - USA 2-5, USA - Czech Republic 4-1, Slovakia - Russia 2-5, Russia - USA 3-0 and Slovakia - Czech Republic 4-6.

U17 National team games

Finland and Russia U17 played three games this weekend with the results 3-4 (OT), 3-2 (SO) and 2-6.

Next week an U17 tournament will be played in Füssen with Germany, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Switzerland and USA.

Finland beat Russia

Finland won the last game of three between the Under-17 teams of Finland and Russia in Vierumäki 2-1.

Finland also won game one 3-1 while Russia won the second game 4-3.

Team USA U17 wins in Dallas

USA got four easy wins to finish on top of the 5-nations tournament for U17 national teams in Frisco, Texas. Czech Republic finished second before Switzerland, Slovakia and Germany.

Four pre-tournament games before the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge was played last night: Finland - Czech Republic 8-7 (OT), Sweden - Canada Black 5-1, Canada White - Russia 3-2 and USA - Canada Red 4-3.

Finland-Sweden

Finland and Sweden played three national team games today. In the Women's game Finland won 1-0 in Mariehamn. The Swedish U17 team beat Finland 7-4 in Haapajärvi. In the U20 tournament in Dmitrov, Russia Sweden won 3-2 after a shootout.

In Dmitrov the Czech U20 team beat Russia 4-0.
