Moved to Winnipeg from Minnesota where the franchise played as Minnesota Moose. Played in IHL from 1996 to 2001 and AHL from 2001 to 2011. Moose owner True North Sports and Entertainment acquired NHL franchise Atlanta Thrashers in 2011 with an intention of moving them to Winnipeg. A deal was set up to move Moose to St. John's where they will continue to play in AHL as St. John's IceCaps.
