Mattias Sjögren who is back at Färjestad after starting the season in North America is the fourth candidate to the Swedish MVP award.
Guldpucken is awarded to the player that has been most valuable in Elitserien and the Swedish national team. This year nine candidates will be nominated before the winner is selected.
Mattias Sjögren, Färjestad is the fourth candidate to be nominated. Earlier during the season Carl Söderberg, Joel Lundqvist and Jakob Silverberg has been nominated.
The motivation on the nomination is: "Mattias Sjögren, 24, made a come back in Färjestad in December and immediately became a lift for the reigning champions. Färjestad has won five out of six games since Sjögren returned. The hard working forward has grown from last year. He is more intense in his skating, goes straighter on goal and uses his physics better. Sjögren was also one the best players in Tre Kronor when they Channel One Cup in Moscow"
Sjögren was glad at being nominated. "That's very fun to hear. I hear you can find the best alternative" he said with a laugh.
