USA and Switzerland end the WJC campaign with a 2-1 game

The 2012 World Juniors was a big disappointment for both USA and Switzerland. The Americans ended 7th and Switzerland 8th.

The 7th place was of course a huge disappointment for the Americans who were one of the favorites to capture the gold medals. In the last game for the 7th/8th place USA got away with a 2-1 win.

"You always want to win your last game of any tournament and we did just that," said Dean Blais, head coach of the U.S. National Junior Team to usahockey.com. "I'm proud of our guys for giving their all to the end."

All goals were scored in a 5-minute span in the first period. Austin Czarnik opened with an unassisted goal for the Americans. Gaetan Haas tied it with his third goal of the championship. Kevin Gravel scored the American game-winning goal at 16:15.
