SKA loses away game at home.
Avtomobilist 0-2 Dinamo RigaTwo quick goals in the first helped Dinamo Riga to win in Yekaterinburg. At 05:32 Martins Karsums scored his 17th goal in the season with assists from Janis Sprukts and Kristijanis Redlihs. Later Jekabs Redlihs took a pass from Roberts Bukarts and with the shot from the faceoff spot beat Yevgeny Lobanov’s net. Riga goalie Christopher Holt stopped 25 shots and made the second shutout in the last three games. This game helped Dinamo to save 14 points over Spartak Moscow who is now at the 9th position in the West.
Traktor 4-1 AtlantTraktor increased the lead over Metallurg Mg to 6 points after beating Atlant at home. Alexander Ryazantsev with a powerful shot opened the scoring at 04:11. It was the 13th goal for Chelyabinsk defenseman. Andrei Zubarev in power-play tied the game at 15:47 with Traktor newcomer Dmitry Ryabykin in the penalty box. Only in the third Traktor could break the defense of Atlant with Petri Kontiola, Jan Bulis and Konstantin Panov’s goal. Atlant managed to make only 19 shots where only one was a problem for Michael Garnett.
CSKA 3-1 Salavat YulaevCSKA before the playoff is seemed to be on the right way to find their game. After beating Salavat Yulayev this Sunday they extended their winning streak to 3 games. A play before the net helped CSKA to open the scoring at 6:40. Ilya Zubov was the faster after Denis Parshin’s shot. Tomas Surovy’s blue line shot made the score 2-0 at 15:31. Salavat Yulayev scored only early in the third when Igor Mirnov came from the right wing and beat Rastislav Stana. Another Tomas Surovy power long shot closed the game with 3 minutes remaining in the third. Both teams combined managed only to take 35 shots.
Barys 5-2 SKABarys played a home game, but played in St. Petersburg against SKA. It happened because Barys home arena is used for parliament elections these days. Kazakh team was confused only in the first minutes of the first when they conceded Patrik Thoresen and Tony Mårtensson’s goals. A mistake by Denis Denisov lead to Kevin Dallmans’s goal at 17:17. In the second Barys turned the game into their account with Yevgeny Fadeyev and Nigel Dawes goals. A two-minute span in the third made the score 5-2. Roman Starchenko and Talgat Zhailaulov at 57:04 closed the game to make a second loss in a row for SKA on the home ice but not in home games.
Dinamo Minsk 5-0 NeftekhimikDinamo Minsk began the home series against teams from the East with a win over Neftekhimik. In the end of the first Yevgeny Korolyov earned a two minutes penalty for game delaying, this penalty went to the second where one of the Neftekhimik players got the puck in their own net. Peter Podhradsky became the author of the goal. At 35:26 Alexander Pavlovich used a pass from Alexander Kitarov to make it 2-0. Early in the third Belarus team got two power-play chances during the second Zbynek Irgl scored a good goal at 45:05. 5 minutes later Teemu Laine increased a lead to 4 goals with a long goal. Alexander Kitarov scored his first KHL goal at 51:21 when he beat Denis Franskevich who exchanged Tuomas Tarrki in the net after the fourth Minsk goal. Kevin Lalande stopped 28 shots and made the 4th shutout of the season.
Lev 1-5 Ak BarsEmil Garipov made 29 saves when Ak Bars got a comfortable 5-1 win against Lev in Slovakia. Alexei Tereschenko scored 1-0 after 4:39. Emil Lundberg tied it at 18:18 with Lev's only goal. In the second period Stepan Zakharchuk, Kirill Petrov and Artemy Panarin made it 4-1 Ak Bars and in the third Alexei Morozov added a 5-1 goal.
