Two Elitserien teams change coaches

Both Timrå IK and Färjestad BK announced new head coaches. Tommy Andersson is new in Timrå while assistant Leif Carlsson takes over in Färjestad

Timrå has been looking for a new coach since Per-Erik Johnson left on December 30. The new coach is Tommy Andersson who started his career in the club and played several seasons in the club during the 60's and 70's. His last coach assignment was in Bregenzerwald of the Austrian Nationalliga.

Andersson replaces Anders Karlsson who has been temporary head coach. Karlsson will now be assistant coach together with Henrik Stridh. Timrå is currently in last place in Elitserien, 14 points behind the closest team.

Färjestad also announced a coach change today. A bit surprising Niklas Czarnecki has been fired and assistant coach Leif Carlsson will take over as head coach. "We feel that we have to give the team optimal conditions to reach our high goals now when we are entering a decisive part of the season", manager Thomas Rundqvist said about the decision and added "Of course it's a very hard decision". Färjestad is currently in sixth place.
