In the match against Adler Mannheim home team Kölner Haie won 4-3 and received important three points in their playoff fight.
In front of 13,765 spectators it was Johan Akerman who opened the score with a shot from the blue line in favour of home team Kölner Haie which was in power play in this situation (11.). Four minutes later Matt Pettinger increased the lead from a short distance. This was the signal for Mannheim to start playing aswell and Lehoux cut the distance to one only a minute later with a shot into the left bottom corner. The middle period began with a fast goal by Cologne through team captain John Tripp whose shot from the right wing entered the left side of the net (22.). Around "half time" Adam Mitchell scored the second goal for Mannheim when he only had to send a blocked shot over the goal line. With two minutes left in the period Lehoux even tied the game again. First a shot hit the post, then the goalie and from there Lehoux only had to get the stick on the puck. In the last 20 minutes the Kölner Haie had again the better start and after 99 seconds Greg Claaßen scored the game-winner for the hosts. Now Cologne has brought a four-point distance between itself and the non-playoff spots. For a top-6 playoff spot they need to catch up seven points.
