On Monday in KHL Yugra blanks Avtomobilist, Atlant won for the first time since 9 Jan, SKA and Dynamo Moscow won in close games.
Yugra 2-0 AvtomobilistYugra blanked Avtomobilist at home and won their third game in a row. Yugra opened the score with a shorthanded goal by Ivan Khlyntsev at 11:53. The last goal happened in the second when Dmitry Altaryov with the his second goal of the season used a pass from Sergei Demagin and Yevgeny Khvostov to extend the lead at 30:26. Avtomobilist outshot Yugra this game 28-20 but can’t score any goal so that Mikhail Biryukov earned his fifth shutout this season.
Neftekhimik 1-4 AtlantAtlant began their road trip with the first victory in the last 7 games beating Neftekhimik 4-1. Atlant got a quick lead with Alexei Glukhov's goal at 2:23 but three minutes later Nikolai Lemtyugov managed to tie the game. Glukhov returned Atlant a lead early in the third. With a two minute span in the middle of the third Atlant closed the game 4-1 with goals by Alexander Rybakov and Jonas Andersson. Konstantin Barulin stopped 35 shots from players of Neftekhimik when Atlant managed to make only 24 shots, but 4 of them became goals.
Ak Bars 5-6 SO SKAA drama game happened in Kazan where the home team had two times a 2-goal lead but in the end lost in the shootout series. Kazan got a quick lead in the first 5 minutes with goals by Konstantin Glazachev and Danis Zaripov in power-play. But soon SKA began returning into the game. Denis Denisov in power-play cut their lead in power-play. The teams this night scored usually when the special teams where on the ice. Yevgeny Artyukin with his team-mate Denis Grebeshkov in the penalty box for tripping tied the game at 14:10. In the end of the first Denis Kulyash in power-play returned for Ak Bars a lead. Kazan D-man Stepan Zakharchuk got 5+20 mins penalty at 19:26 but SKA can’t use this major penalty. Denisov and Dmitry Vorobyov for 40 seconds took 2 minutes penalties and Ak Bars needed only 16 seconds to make it 4-2. It’s Alexei Morozov who used a pass from his linemates Danis Zaripov and Niko Kapanen to extend the lead. To the end of the second SKA tied the game with goals by Alexander Kucheryavenko and Fyodor Fyodorv. At 48:51 Maxim Rybin pulled SKA ahead for the first time this game. Ak Bars managed to tie the game soon with Zaripov’s second goal of the night. Both teams changed their starting goalies during the game and Petri Vehanen and Maxim Sokolov faced each other in shootout where the game was decided. Only first penalty shot wasn’t converted into the goal, Maxim Sokolov stopped Alexei Morozov's shot and in the third round Fyodorov closed the game with a huge win for SKA.
Dynamo Msk 4-3 Dinamo RigaLatvian players tried to rally from a 4-goal deficit but could score only three times. The Moscow team began the game very aggressive and scored three times in the first 7 minutes. Christopher Holt who started the game for Riga was pulled out by Maris Jucers. Goals were scored by Mikhail Anisin, Marek Kvapil and Denis Kokarev. Later in the period the next goal happened at this game when Sergei Konkov used a pass from Vyacheslav Kozlov at 27:10. The second half of the game was full of puck possession by Riga. At 32:57 Marcel Hossa scored another goal for Dinamo using a pass from Girts Ankipans. Early in the third Dinamo scored twice with Fredrik Warg and Kristaps Sotnieks help. Between these goals Alexander Nizivijs failed in a penalty shot attempt. Dynamo goalie Alexei Volkov had a lot of work to do, he stopped 35 shots and didn’t give Riga a chance to tie the game during the last minutes of play.
