ZSC Finnish/Swiss veteran goalie will move back to Finland
After 615 games in Swiss Nationalliga, all with ZSC Lions, the 43-year-old Finnish goalie
Ari Sulander announces his retirement at the end of season. Helsinki born Sulander arrived at Lions in 1998-99 season after four SM-Liiga titles (1992, 1994, 1996 and 1997) and two European Cup with Jokerit Helsinki, winning three Swiss Leagues (2000, 2001 and 2008), two Continental Cup (2001,2002) and the amazing double Champions League - Victoria Cup in 2009 with Zurich.
He also won a World Championship (1995) and a bronze medal in 1998 Nagano Olympics with Finland where he played a total of 117 international games including seven World Championships. Last December 17 he played a NLB game for farm team GCK Lions along with his 19-years-old son
Santtu, a Switzerland U18 international. From last year Sulander has also a Swiss citizenship: despite this he announces that he will move back to Finland to work as goalie coach
