Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg - Iserlohn Roosters 8:0

Wolfsburg crushed Iserlohn two days after breaking the away curse in games against Eisbären Berlin. The match started with a terrible off-day of guest goalie Tero Leinonen who get four goals against in the first six shots in his second appearance this season. After 12:11 played Colin Beardsmore, Christopher Fischer, Benedikt Kohl and Kai Hospelt had scored for the Grizzly Adams. Roosters head coach Doug Mason had to react and substituted his starting goalie by Tim Siekmann. The new man between the posts also had only to wait 33 seconds until Andre Huebscher scored another one for Wolfsburg to decide the game already in the first period. In the following two periods Iserlohn just tried to keep the result within limits and so they only allowed another three goals by David Laliberté, Patrick Davis and John Laliberte. Wolfsburg goalie Lukas Lang saved all 24 shots and earned a shutout. While Wolfsburg has every chance to finish the season even on the first place, Iserlohn fell out of the playoff spots and now has the worst goal difference of the remaining playoff candidates.

Nürnberg Ice Tigers - DEG Metro Stars 2:3

The DEG Metro Stars get their second away win within a week by defeating bottom club Nürnberg Ice Tigers 3-2. The game started with guests who controlled the first period with 15 to 4 shots and earned a comfortable three-goal lead after Derek Dinger, Patrick Reimer and Daniel Kreutzer had scored. In the middle period the Ice Tigers found into the game but only managed to score one by Adrian Grygiel. Early in an even third period Alexander Oblinger cut the lead to one but Düsseldorf managed to get three important away points in their playoff fight.

Krefeld Pinguine - EHC München 2:1

Krefeld increased its winning streak to four. Two days after the derby win in Düsseldorf, the Penguins beat EHC München 2-1. In a first period with few chances on both sides, Duncan Milroy opened the score for Krefeld in a power play with three minutes left to play. Around "half time" Boris Blank increased the lead for the hosts, but three minutes later Jason Ulmer also brought München on the scoreboard. In the third the Bavarians were the more active team but the three points stayed in Krefeld which now is two points behind München.

Augsburger Panther - ERC Ingolstadt 1:0

DEL's best home team Augsburger Panther had another win in their own stadium in the derby against Ingolstadt.  In a close game with many good opportunities on both sides the goalies were a key factor. In the end a 5 on 3 power play with only 28 seconds left to play brought the game winner by Brian Roloff for Augsburg. Frustrated about the late goal the guest players started a fight but they couldn't use the trouble to tie the game and so Augsburg had a three-point win.

Straubing Tigers - Hannover Scorpions 1:2 SO

While bottom club Hannover Scorpions is playing absolutely terrible on home ice, they do quite well in away games - at least from time to time. In Straubing they get their second shootout win against the Tigers this season. In a close match Andreas Morczinietz opened the score for Hannover late in the second period. In the third Alexander Dotzler tied the game for the hosts and so the game went into overtime. There none of the teams was succesful and so the shootout had to decide. There all three penalty attempts were converted by the Scorpions players to give Hannover the extra point.
