Five rounds left to play of Elitserien

It's now only five rounds to play in Elitserien it's still a close race at both top and bottom of the standings.
MoDo - Skellefteå 3-4
Skellefteå won the game away to MoDo by winning the first period 3-0. Erik Forsell opened the scoering already after 57 seconds by a goal by Erik Forssell. Later Skellefteå added two goals with in 22 seconds before MoDo could come back to 2-3 with two power play goals. Joakim Lindström extended the lead for the guests with eight minutes left to play. Tomas Pöck gave the home fans some hope when he made it 3-4 with 1:06 left but MoDo never tied the game.
Timrå - Linköping 5-4 OTLinköping only got one point from the game against Timrå despite leading with 4-2 with 6 minutes left to play. But two quicks goal by Larsson and Boyce Rotewall tied the game. WJC champion Jeremy Boyce Rotewall scored his first goal of the season when he picked a rebound in front of Norrena. Timrå earlier had taken a 2-0 lead after the first period but Linköping came back and with some skill and some help of the referees they scored three straight goals in the second period, two of them on power plays. Magnus Johansson who scored three points today made it 4-2 to the LHC early in the third but it was Timrå who got the last word when Jonathan Hedström scored the game winner in overtime. Linköpings is now very close to having to join Timrå in the relegation round being only two points ahead of Djurgården.
Brynäs - HV71 1-3Despite a long list of injured key players HV71 took a strong 3-1 victory against Brynäs. It was a even game where two power plays were decisive for HV71. David Petrasek scored on of them and assisted on the other. Jesse Joensuu assisted on both them. In the absence of Daniel Larsson Andreas Andersson did well in goal for HV71 and made 25 saves.
Djurgården - Växjö 2-1A very important win for Djurgården in their chase to avoid the relegation round, on the same time a though loss for Växjö in their hunt for a playoff spot. It was the World Junior hero Mika Zibanejad who opened the scoring for Djurgården. Jimmie Ölvestad added the second goal on power play in the third period but Växjö pulled one goal back after with five minutes left to play and put on a heavy pressure to get the equalizer but despite some good chances it never came. Växjö however still holds the eight and last playoff spot only six points ahead of Djurgården who are in eleventh place.
Färjestad - AIK 3-1Färjestad shows growing form in good time for the upcoming playoffs and won a solid game at home to AIK. Färjestad took the lead in the first period and added two more goals in a very good second period by the home team. Färjestad's two Norwegians Marius Holtet and Anders Bastiansen both had one goal and one assist today scored on Färjestad's 1-0 and 3-0, both power play goals. AIK were never close today and Victor Ahlström scored their only goal with just two minutes left of the game.
