One round left in Elitserien

MoDo and Växjö race for the last playoff spot while Djurgården and Linköping fights to avoid the relegation round.
Djurgården - MoDo 2-1 SOAn important game for both teams in the bottom of the standings. MoDo took the lead after three minutes by Niklas Sundström. Daniel Tjärnqvist tied the game with a power play goal late in the first period. Then the scoring was over and the game was decided in a penalty shootout and it was Djurgården who won it when Patrik Cehlin scored the game winner. A goal that took Djurgården over the line that leads to the relegation round. MoDo still holds the eight and last playoff spot, on the same point as Växjö in ninth place
Linköping - HV71 2-3Important points at stake for Linköping. Pär Arlbrandt had a great chance to give Linköping a 3-2 lead late in the game on a penalty shot but missed it. Instead Oscar Sundh made it 2-3 on a counter attackt with less than two minutes left to play. Though for Linköping that are now in eleventh place that leads to the relegation round. One point behind Djurgården in tenth place. Besides Oskar Sundh, goalie Andreas Andersson and the two points scorers Johan Davidsson and Jukka Voutilainen was key players in the win for HV71.
Växjö - AIK 2-0Martin Gerber made 30 saves for the shotout when Växjö secured a place in Elitserien next year. The 2-0 win also means that Växjö is still in the playoff race now having the same amount of points as MoDo. Gustav Hjalmarsson and Joshua Soares scored Växjö's goal today in a well deserved victory.
Färjestad - Timrå 2-3Last placed Timrå showed great fighting spirit when defeating Färjestad on away ice 3-2. Timrå only dressed 15 skaters and only had seven forwards available from the roster. But Timrå played really well for the first two period and perhaps they have should have the lead but the score was 2-2. In the third Färjestad took over and 16-4 in shots but Timrå scored the only goal when Jonathan Hedström was given an open net to score on after some nice passes.
Skellefteå - Luleå 3-1Luleå had already won Elitserien before this game but Skellefteå wanted to show that they should have won the league in the derby game. And after a very good game by the home they won 3-1. Bud Holloway was the game winner for Skellefteå by scoring one goal and two assists.
Brynäs - Frölunda 2-3A few rounds ago Brynäs was a big contender for the regular season title but after a lot of losses recently they are now down in fifth place and might miss out on the home ice advantage in the quarter finals. Today they however did a quite good game but still lost at home to Frölunda when Frederik Andersen made 31 saves for the guests. Brynäs lead 2-1 after two period but Frölunda won after two goals in the third. Mika Pyöräla scored the game winner at 13:55, his second goal of the game. Jakob Silfverberg scored one goal and one assist for Brynäs and have now been on the scoring sheet for 14 games in a row.
