Outsiders ZSC Lions with their second win in the series against second-placed Davos; Genève in play down trouble
Playoff Quarterfinals Second Round: EHC Biel - EV Zug 1:4The favourites from Zug had the better start in their first game in Biel and already had a two-goal lead after the first period. Glen Metropolit and Damien Brunner had scored for the guests. In the middle of the third Josh Holden even extended the lead but shortly after it Eric Beaudoin cut the lead in the 52nd. With one and a half minutes to go Thomas Ruefenacht made the away win for Zug perfect.
Zug leads 2-0 in the series
ZSC Lions - HC Davos 6:1Zürich had 21 poiints less than Davos in the regular season but when it comes to the playoffs you still can surprise your opponent with a good team effort. After their first win in Davos, the ZSC Lions also won at home against the Swiss record champion and this time by a large margin. Jeff Tambellini and Domenico Pittis had brought their team in front during the first ten minutes of play but still in the first period Ramon Untersander was the first Davos player to appear on the scoreboard. The 2-1 stood for a long time until Cyrill Bühler did get the two-goal lead back in the 43rd. Now Davos had to react but instead of a race to catch up Mark Bastl and twice Patrik Bärtschi made the result humiliating for the guests.
Zürich leads 2-0 in the series
HC Lugano - Fribourg-Gottéron 2:4Second away win in this series. After Lugano now also Fribourg gets the first win of the series. The fans had to wait for goals during the first half of the game but then it was Oliver Kamber who brought Lugano in front in the 35th. Withiin two and half minutes Andrei Bykov and Michael Ngoy had turned the game around for Fribourg and early in the thrid Benny Plüss made it even 1-3. With less than four minutes to go Sebastien Reuille gave the home fans a bit of hope but in the last minute Michael Knoepfli made the away win for Fribourg perfect.

SC Bern - Kloten Flyers 6:3After their close win in the first game of this series Bern did it better today but had a lot of work with the rivals from Kloten. Despite a two goal lead through Ivo Rüthemann and Martin Plüss for Bern it was Kloten that was in front after the first 20 minutes as Roman Wick, Marcel Jenni and Michael Liniger turned the game around within four minutes. In the middle period it was twice Ryan Gardner to get the game back into the other direction and early in the third Marc Reichert decided the game for Bern. Later Jean-Pierre Dumont even extended the lead.

Playouts Second Round:
Rapperswil-Jona Lakers - Genève-Servette HC 5:3After missing the playoffs on the last matchday of the regular season, the playouts become a horror scenario for Genève. Against last-placed Rapperswil they received their second loss in the second game of the series. Pavel Brendel had brought the Lakers in front with two goals already in the first six minutes. Later in the first period Stefan Hürlimann even increased that lead. Until the end of the middle period Flurin Randegger and Morris Trachsler get the guests back into the game but in the 42nd Reto Suri scored for Rapperswil. Three minutes later Goran Bezina again cut the host's lead but the answer through Andreas Camenzind came in the 57th which was also the last goal of the match.

HC Ambrì-Piotta - SCL Tigers 1:3After their overtime win in the first game of the series, the SCL Tigers also won their first away match against Ambrì-Piotta. The hosts had a difficult start into the game and so Pascal Pelletier and Kurtis McLean made it 0-2 in favour of Langnau after 30 minutes. Gregory Hofmann cut the lead in the 45th but ten minutes later Sebastian Schilt already decided the match for the SCL Tigers.
