SKA to the second round

SKA blanks CSKA 5-0 and goes to the second round in the West, Torpedo and Atlant lead their series 3-2.
SKA 5-0 CSKASKA killed an intrigue in the first period. Firstly Dmitry Kalinin scored his third goal in this series on a power-play with a shot from the blue line, then Maxim Afinogenov increased a lead at 09:54. 3 minutes later Dmitry Vorobyov on a breakaway fed up a pass to Matthias Weinhandl who scored a shorthanded goal. Jakub Stepanek denied a penalty shot from Denis Parshin later in the second period. 2 minutes later Alexander Kucheryavenko with the second attempt beat Sergei Gaiduchenko who exchanged Rastislav Stana in the middle of the first. The last goal of the series was scored by Andrei Pervyshin who fired from the blue line in power-play. CSKA didn't create any danger in front of the net of Stepanek who faced only 14 shots and all of them were stopped.
Torpedo 4-3 Dinamo RigaTorpedo wins the one of the important games in this series to take a lead 3-2. The teams began the first so actively and scored 5 times. First Torpedo grabbed the lead with Juuso Hietanen's goal in power-play. 2 minutes later Marcel Hossa fired from long distance to tie the game. Vladimir Gorbunov pulled Torpedo ahead again when he took a pass from Ilya Krikunov to make 2-1. Dinamo Riga tied again when Niklas Lucenius redirected a puck after Hossa's shot. With one second to play in the first Krikunov gave Torpedo the lead. Torpedo increased the lead when Mikhail Varnakov converted a nice pass from Kim Hirshovits at 35:51. Dinamo only managed to cut the lead in the end of the game. Janis Sprukts closed the game 4-3. In the next game Dinamo will do their best to return the series to Nizhny Novgorod.
Atlant 3-1 SeverstalAtlant took the lead in the most boring series in the first KHL playoff round. Nikolai Zherdev in the middle of the game took a puck and with a sole move and a wrister opened the scoring. In the third Ruslan Nurtdinov dished up a pass to Alexei Tsvetkov who beat an empty corner of Barulin's net. The game was decided by Branko Radivojevic. First, he scored with a not very dangerous shot at 50:45 and then closed the game with an empty-net goal with 29 seconds to play. Atlant goes to Cherepovets to end the series with the score 4-2 like last season.
