4-0 in Saint-Petersburg. Like the series prediction?

The 2nd round of the KHL playoffs started at the West with two games.

SKA 4–0 Atlant

Like last season these teams faced in the 2nd round. SKA head coach Milos Riha last season coached Atlant and beat SKA 4-3 in the series trailing them 1-3. The scoring was opened in the end of the first when Igor Makarov fed up a nice pass to Vladimir Tarasenko who with a low shot shored. Fyodor Fyodorov robbed a D-man at the blue line and beat goalie Konstantin Barulin at 21:42. In the end of the second SKA increased their lead with Viktor Tikhonov’s goal. The beginning of the last third decided the game. Tony Mårtensson robbed the puck and dished it to Matthias Weinhandl who closed the game 4-0. In the last minutes the teams killed time, at one time the game was without whistles for about 7-8 minutes. Jakub Stepanek faced only 15 shots and all of them were denied to earn the second straight shutout in this playoff.

Torpedo 0–1 Dynamo Moscow

Torpedo didn’t have enough time to rest after 7 games against Dinamo Riga when Dynamo Moscow needed only 4 games to beat Dinamo from Minsk. Only one mistake defined the fate of the game. At 24:07 Alexander Yevseyenkov dished a pass to the blade of Sergei Soin’s stick and he scored a lonely goal. Torpedo goalie Vital Koval made some good saves but one shot he couldn’t stop. Alexander Yeryomenko stoned all 21 shots and earned the 2nd shutout in this playoff.
