Already on Tuesday Linz managed to get the home ice advantage back .
EHC Liwest Black Wings Linz – EC KAC 6:2 (1:0, 2:2, 3:0)Linz earned their second consecutive win to turn the series around completely and get back the home ice advantage against the EC KAC. The fans didn't have to wait too long as the first goal came after only 36 seconds of play. After a won face off it was Daniel Oberkofler who found himself alone on the left wing and his well-placed shot entered the goal into the left bottom corner from a sharp angle - as always a difficult situation for the goalie who definitely seemed surprised by the shot. KAC goalie Andy Chiodo had quite a lot to do in what was remaining of the first 20 minutes and especially in a 5 on 4 power play by Linz he could show what it means to a goalie at the top professional level in Austria.
In the 28th minute Canadian import Rob Hisey made an incredible individual effort to extend Linz' lead. He started with the puck from the own half, then went behind the goal and made it 2-0 with a wrap-around. Now came the time for Klagenfurt to finally show a reaction which they did through goals by Tyler Scofield and Joey Tenute - the 2-2 even was a 5 on 4 power play. Still there was no boost for the Austrian record champions as the equalizer seemed to motivate the hosts even more as they only did need 37 seconds to let Mike Ouelette get them back in front.
Early in the third Keller made it 4-2 and now Klagenfurt had nothing to offer anymore. Instead Oberkofler with his second of the night and Martin Grabher-Meier let the result become very comfortable for Linz.
