EBEL 2011/12 Finals; fourth game

Linz just one step away from second league title in club history.
EC KAC – EHC Liwest Black Wings Linz 1-4 (1:1, 0:2, 0:1) Already in the 6th minute the guests from Linz were successful. First Justin Keller's try was stopped by a great glove save from Andy Chiodo. The rebound then came to Rob Hisey whose wrap-around was deflected into the net by a skate of a EC KAC defender. Seven minutes later Tenute tried it with a long-distance shot and the following rebound was taken by Tyler Scofield who managed to score the equalizer for Klagenfurt in front of 5200 spectators. The goal was heavily discussed as one KAC attacker pushed a Linz defender into their goalie Alex Westlund and by doing that also stood himself in the goaltender area. After a nice counter attack, still in the first period, Justin Keller hit the goal post for Linz. In the second again the goal post helped Andy Chiodo to avoid another goal by Linz but at the end of the middle period a Linz double through Adrian Veideman and Jan-Axel Alavaara decided the match. First Oberkofler sent defender Videman over the left wing and he found a way to get the puck past Chiodo - directly in the left top corner. Then Linz had a 5 on 3 power play but despite several good saves Chiodo had to let another one through - this time a shot by Alavaara. With 5:05 to go Justin Keller even made it 1-4 after a cross pass from Rob Hisey.
It was already the third time in the four games of this series that the away team was successful. With their third consecutive win EHC Linz is now just only one step away from winning their second Austrian championship after 2002-03. On Sunday Linz will have the chance to end the series at home in only five games.
