Avangard blanks Traktor and takes a 2-1 lead in the East final

Avangard goalie Karri Rämö stopped 19 shots to lead his team to the second win in the series against Traktor.

The real chance they didn’t use at the last minute of the first when Igor Volkov re-directed Martin Skoula’s shot and then tried to add the puck from the rebound. Karri Rämö made a good save in the middle when Kontiola try to beat him with a wrist shot. Alexander Perezhogin couldn’t overplay Garnett in two breakaways. Defenseman Dmitry Ryabikin from Traktor and forward Vladimir Pervushin messed in the last minute of the second, Ryabikin earned 2 minutes when his opponent got 4 for roughing and slashing. Traktor can’t make any siege of Rämö’s net in last minute. The Finnish goalie stoned all shots and made his first shutout in this playoff. Avangard outshot Traktor 39-19; the most part of shots came in the second when Traktor allowed Avangard to make 20 shots on their net.
The game 4 will be played April 4 again in Omsk.
