Avangard is one step from the Gagarin Cup finals

Avangard 3-1 Traktor

The game wasn’t full of events and game actions. The game was equal before Traktor players got penalties. Gennady Razin and Alexander Ryazantsev helped Avangard to take game possession. When Ryazantsev’s penalty minutes came to an end Yegor Averin fired from the slot to make it 1-0 for Avangard. The officials lost the moment in the end of the period when Anton Belov hit Yevgeny Kuznetsov at the neck with his stick and then kicked him. Belov only got two minutes. Avangard dominated in the second period and increased the lead when Alexei Kalyuzhny added the puck into the net after Dmitry Syomin’s sole move at 29:37. Avangard outshot Traktor 16-13 in the first two periods but only managed to make shots 3 times in the third period. Traktor made 13 shots in the last third and scored with 51 second remaining. Anton Glinkin beat Finnish goalie Karri Rämö to cut Avangard lead. Traktor believed that they could make a comeback but Roman Cervenka killed all their chances with an empty-net goal at 59:45.

Game 5 will be played in Chelyabinsk April 6th.
