First round to Brynäs
10 Apr 2012 | Fredrik Pålsson
Brynäs won the first final game of Elitserien, 6-3 away at Skellefteå
As usual Skellefteå came out strong on home ice but Niklas Svedberg made some good saves to keep the game tied. Instead Brynäs took the lead by Jesper Ollas and European Player of the Month Jakob Silfverberg extended the lead to 0-2 after 14 minutes on another counter attack.
And the game continued in the same style in the second period when Joachim Rohdin made it 0-3 on a breakaway. Skellefteå scored three power play goals but it wasn't enough, short after Bellemare's 1-3 goal Martin Johansson made it 1-4.
Rohdin's second goal of the game made it 1-5 early in the third and even Skellefteå dominated the period heavily. Joakim Lindström made it 2-5 but Silfverberg sealed the victory on the emtpy net before a late consolation goal by Holloway.
Brynäs won the first round in the best of seven final, round two will be played in Gävle on Thursday.
