A sudden death winner gives Brynäs a 2-0 lead in the final series against Skellefteå.
Brynäs took a grip of the final of Elitserien after winning also the second final game. But today's game was closer and was decided in overtime.
It was Brynäs that started best and took the lead when Jörgen Sundqvist went forward from his position as defender and scored on a great pass by Johan Larsson. Skellefteå played well in the second period and tied the game when Niclas Burström found the net.
Brynäs had a great start to the third period when Daniel Widing scored with a great shot in the upper corner. That goal seemed to be the game winner but with an extra attacker on the ice Skellefteå tied the game with only 1:09 left to play. Pierre-Edouard Bellemare was the goal scorer.
But Brynäs is the some what hotter team at the moment and after an icing after two minutes Martin Johansson scored the game winner three seconds after the face off. Skellefteå is now in trouble and their best players need to improve if they should have a chance to turn this final around.
