Niklas Svedberg was the big hero when he made 38 saves as Brynäs won the third final game with the only goal of the game.
Skellefteå showed from the start that they needed to win this game and played physical from the start of the game. Both teams got one short power play each in the middle of the first period, the best chance was created when Pierre-Edouard Bellemare almost got a breakaway while playing shorthanded. Niklas Svedberg saved Bellemare's shot but Ryan Gunderson scored an own goal on the rebound but Svedberg stopped it. Skellefteå got another chance on a late power play but played it bad and the first period finished without any goals scored.
The first period was quite even with a small advantage for Skellefteå. But in the second Skellefteå took over the game. Brynäs however defended well and didn't let Skellefteå create so many chances and when Skellefteå got the chance Niklas Svedberg played big in goal for Brynäs. Skellefteå also had two power plays but failed to convert and Brynäs also had a good chance shorthanded.
And when Skellefteå failed to score brynäs took the chance, shortly after the power plays Brynäs scored the first goal of the game at 14:23. Mattias Ekholm skated around the net and found Jonathan Granström who scored from close range. Granström was in the crease but the goal was allowed. A hard blow for Skellefteå who had 10-2 in shots on goal before the goal. Skellefteå continue to dominate the game after the goal and got another power play but just couldn't found a way to score on Svedberg despite 18 shots on goal in the period. Instead Brynäs almost made it 0-2 on a late power play but Joacim Eriksson made an important save.
In the third period Skellefteå lost a bit of their dominance but still had a lot of the momentum in the game. They couldn't create as many chances as in the second period but Niclas Burström had a great chance with six minutes left to play but Svedberg made another fantastic save. Skellefteå pulled the goalie with two minutes left and created one great chance when Erik Forssell hit the post with 20 seconds left to play.
Brynäs now has a 3-0 lead in the series and can be Swedish Champions at home already tomorrow.
