Skellefteå spoiled Brynäs gold party and keeps the final series alive by winning game four in overtime.
Skellefteå needed to win to keep the final alive but got a difficult start with two penalties within the first three minutes. Brynäs only needed four seconds on five on three before Jakob Silfverberg had made it 1-0 behind Joacim Erikson who didn't see the puck. But after the goal Skellefteå took over the game and also tied at 14:08 when Erik Forssell scored on the open net after being set up by a beautfil attack by Jimmie Ericsson and Joakim Lindström.
Bad feelings between Pierre-Edouard Bellemare and Jonathan Granström led to a penalty on Bellemare and then Silfverberg scored his second goal of the game to give Brynäs a 2-1 lead after the first period. Eriksson seemed to save the shot, but dropped and the puck barely crossed the line behind him, a bad mistake by Eriksson who has been a bit uneven during the final series.
"Of course it is fun to score and it is the most important game of the season", Silfverberg said after the first period and added that he believed that his team should go for a third goal instead of playing defensive. And Silfverberg had a chance to make it 3-1 early in the third but this he missed and instead Anders Söderberg tied the game when he lifted in a rebound for 2-2.
The second period had a lot of feelings and several penalties. And Joakim Lindström came directly from the penalty bench when he came all alone with Svedberg and scored in the fifth hole with just 33 seconds left to play of the period giving Skellefteå a 3-2 lead. The top scored of the playoffs, Bud Holloway made the assist, his second of the game.
Brynäs started the chase for an equalizer from the start of the third period and got an early power play chance. They didn't score on the power play but continued to create chances afterwards and at 5:25 Ryan Gunderson tied the game when he scored after a faceoff. But teams went forward for the win and had some good chances, Skellefteå's Petter Emanuelsson was closest but his shot hit the bar.
Jakob Silfverberg got a great chance to be the hero with his third goal of the game but his penalty shot hit the post. Instead Oscar Lindberg was the hero of the day when he kept the final series alive with his game winning goal 6:35 into the overtime. The goal was scored on a power play while Mattias Ekholm was on the penalty bench for a puck out.
