Kutlak injured, Hansen suspended

One of Denmark's best players in the game against the Czech Republic has been suspended one game after a check from behind that injured Czech Zdenek Kutlak.
The 2012 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship Disciplinary Panel has ruled that Danish forward Jannik Hansen will be suspended one game due to his hit from behind on Zdenek Kutlak in yesterday's game versus the Czech Republic.
Kutlak was injured after the tackle and won't be able to play against Sweden tonight. Thus the Czechs have added TPS Turku defenceman Tomas Mojzis to their roster.
According to IIHF home page, the panel ruled that Hansen's hit included a two-handed shove from behind, causing Kutlak to be thrown violently into the boards and sustain an injury to his head and neck area.
The suspension was a bit surprising since Hansen was only assessed a two-minute minor penalty by the on-ice officials.
The Disciplinary Panel stated, "Although there was a minor penalty for boarding assessed for this infraction, the panel believes the appropriate call warranted a match penalty as per playing rule 523, Checking from Behind."
The Vancouver Canucks' forward will miss Denmark's game tomorrow against Italy.
