Two more points for Slovan Bratislava

HC Slovan Bratislava played its second game of European Trophy and got away with a shootout win over UPC Vienna Capitals.
Michal Vondrka got the game-winning shot when Slovan Bratislava won the battle between the two Red Bulls Salute (ET playoffs) hosts. The result wasn't very important as both teams are qualified for the playoffs no matter how they perform during the group stage.
Slovan took the lead with a minute to go of the first period. Mario Bliznak, with assist from Michel Miklik and Josef Boumedienne, beat Matt Zaba in Vienna's net. Vienna's Jamie Fraser replied at only 22 seconds of the second period.
At 30:22 Vienna switched goalies; Fabian Weinhandl replaced Matt Zaba and didn't allow a goal until the shootout. Ville Hostikka guarded the home team's net.
The third period and the five minutes overtime were scoreless. In the shootout Soares, A. Lakos and Fortier failed to score for Vienna. Olvecky and Miklik missed for Slovan, but on the sixth shot Michal Vondrka got the goal.
European Trophy continues on Sunday with the game ERC Ingolstadt - ZSC Lions.
