Polish Federation choose a Russian coach to lead national team: 54-years old
Igor Zakharkin will start his job with a 10 days' training camp begininng on August 20, finalized with two friendlies against France on 28 and 29 August.
Federation is in talks with Former Russia coach Vyacheslav Bykov to hold the role of team consultant. Negotiation should end positively in this week.
Zacharkin was world champion in 2008 and 2009 as Russia Assistant Coach. Graduated with honors in 1979 at the Moscow Central Institute of Physical Culture, he worked at CSKA in 1986 as head coach. In the years 1993-2004 he worked in Sweden. After returning from Scandinavia became Vyacheslav Bykov's assistant at CSKA Moscow (2004-09), Salavat Yulaev (2009-2011) and the national team of Russia (2006-11).
