Jokerit without mercy against Frölunda Indians

Four European Trophy games on Friday - Finnish side Jokerit has crushed their Swedish opponents from Göteborg 7-1. Both Swiss teams with home wins against their German neighbours. JYP disappoints again.
South Division In today's only game in South Division the two bottom sides JYP and Linköpings HC battled for points. Once more the Finnish hosts could not convince in their current ET campaign. Despite a fast 3-0 lead through Eric Perrin, Olli Malmivaara and Jason Lepine until 24:35, JYP lost the control over the game and had to see how Eric Himmelfarb, Andreas Jämtin and Johannes Salmonsson scored the equalizer just before the second intermission. Already at the beginning of the third period Carl Söderberg and Pär Arlbrandt decided everything for LHC.
West Division EV Zug is the new leader in the West. In an exciting game they beat German side ERC Ingolstadt in overtime. Neither a 3-0 nor a 4-2 lead were enough for the Swiss to keep all three points in their own arena. John Laliberte (who scored three goals in total tonight) with a third period double - the last goal scored at 59:14 shortly after Ingolstadt had taken an timeout - kept the guests in the game. In the overtime it was Andy Wozniewski who scored the game winner after exactly one minute of play to give Zug the extra point.
In what should have been a very hard fight for a top spot in West Division, Jokerit from Helsinki completely humiliated the Swedish guests Frölunda Indians in a very one-sided match with a score of 7-1, leaving them without chances for Red Bull Salute. Jokerit instead can still hope for a final tournament qualification with one game against Färjestads BK left. Teemu Eronen (2) and Teemu Henritius gained a comfortable 3-1 lead for Jokerit after the first period with the equalizer scored between by Fredrik Sjöström. With two early goals in the middle period through Steve Moses and Joonas Rask the home side ran away before again Moses and Teemu Pulkkinen sunk the Frölunda Indians badly before the second break. In the last 20 minutes none of the teams did more than necessary.
In Zurüch Matthias Plachta and Christoph Ullmann found a way in the third period to tie the early two-goal lead of hosts ZSC Lions gained through Roman Wick and Andreas Ambühl in the previous two periods. In the end a more motivated Swiss team didn't give up any points as Chris Baltisberger scored the final 3-2 at 52:00. Mannheim still has only four points after seven games and stays last in the group. ZSC Lions ended their ET season with 8 points.
