Atlant spoils Lokomotiv home opener

The 2011 Gagarin Cup finalists Atlant Moscow Oblast are finding their way into the new season. This time Lokomotiv Yaroslavl came out on the short end. Traktor with another win due to a great goalie performance.
Traktor Chelyabinsk showed a great performance against Dynamo Moscow, defeating them 4-1. Man of the match for the home side was their Czech import Jan Bulis who added 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). The other two strikes for Traktor were scored by Maxim Yakutsenya and Evgeny Kuznetsov while Dmitry Pestunov was succesful for Dynamo. Michael Garnett, who already collected two shutouts in the first two matches of the new season in the Traktor net, showed another classy performance with 28 saves. Traktor now has collected 9 of 12 possible points. For Dynamo it was the second away loss this year.
In the second match of the day Lokomotiv lost their home opener 1-2 against Atlant Moscow Oblast. Although Daniil Apalkov brought the hosts in front at 15:23, Atlant collected all three points by turning the game around completely in the third period through Igor Ignatushkin and Nikolai Zherdev. Vitaly Kolesnik left the Lokomotiv net twice in the last minutes of play for an additional attacker but the result didn't change anymore. With their second loss in a row, Lokomotiv's return to KHL gets its first scratches. On the other side Atlant extended their winning series to four.
