Biel surprises Bern
Geneva with 3rd straight win; Lugano in good shape;
In the third match Biel get the first two points this season. Jakob Micflikier plays the first game in Swiss league. Bern was more dangerous in the first period, but Swiss goalie Reto Berra with a couple of saves allows Biel to stay in game. When everyone was waiting for the end of first period, Ahren Spylo scores after a great pass from Marc-Antoine Pouliot. In the second period Travis Roche ties the game for Bern with a Power-Play goal. In other side Biel Power-Play was just no existent. Coach Kevin Schläpfer has a lot of work to do in this specific zone. The third period was a lot more open with both teams looking for a victory. At minute 50 Swiss player Wetzel scores and put Biel leading the game, but five minutes later Swiss legend Ivo Rüthemann ties the game for Bern to a final 2-2 in regular time. After a overtime without no goals Biel finally wins the game in shootout. Berra with 37 saves was the best player in the game.
Geneva continues to win. This time the victim was Ambri. In front of 5193 persons the home team gets no chance against a very solid squad. Rico Fata (two goals), Cody Almond and Ryan Keller both with two assists give Geneva a very solid victory.
First victory at home for Lugano, Zürich the opponent get's outscored 3-0 in the first period and never comeback in the game. Young Swiss player Diego Kostner was the star with two goals. Canadian player Glen Metropolit (two assists) and Finnish defenseman Ikka Heikkenen (goal and assist), confirming the nice start this season. In other side former NHL player Ryan Shannon (goal and assist) was not enough to give Zürich a chance to win the game.
At kolping arena in Kloten, Swiss legend Marcel Jenni (two goals) and young rising star Denis Hollestein(two assists) lead Kloten to a very solid victory in the second game this season between the Flyers and Davos(advantage Kloten 3-2, 4-1).
Without canadian defenseman Joel Kwiatkowski injured and Andrei Bykov suspended, Fribourg made a solid game against Rapperswil. Former NHL goalie David Aebischer with 39 saves confirms the good start this season, but he's team team finally lost in shootout.
