Luleå and HV71 still undefeated

In Elitserien Luleå and HV71 continue to win. Luleå beat last placed AIK 3-1 while HV71gave Timrå their first regular time loss.

 
 
 
 
Cam Abbott scored his first league goal in over a year when he finished the scoring 3-1 for Luleå against AIK. Abbott was injured the entire 2011/12 season. AIK had taken a 1-0 lead early in the second period by Jonas Liwing. Niklas Olausson tied it for Luleå six minutes later. With two minutes remaining of the period Linus Klasen took Luleå ahead. Luleå is on top of the league with 11 points after four games.

Timrå had opened the season with three overtime games but yesterday suffered its first loss in regulation. Daniel Fernholm took HV71 ahead at 6:20. The lead would last for almost 20 minutes before Alexander Larsson tied it on a power play. At four minutes of the last period a goal by Per Ledin took HV71 to the lead again. Marcus Nilson scored a shorthanded goal for 3-1 and Jason Krog made it 4-1 before Timrå's Sebastian Erixon finalized the scoring at 2-4.

Frölunda had the lead against Färjestad for most of the game but Ville Lajunen tied it at 2 at 44:50. In the end it still was Frölunda who got away with the win after a goal by Jari Tolsa with 3:25 remaining. Tolsa also got an assist on Doug Lynch's 1-0 goal. Mathis Olimb made it 2-0 for Frölunda and another Norwegian player, Ole Kristian Tollefsen, scored Färjestad's first goal.

Two late goals earned Brynäs a 3-1 win over Linköping. Mads Hansen had scored for Brynäs in the second period and Carl Söderberg had tied it for Linköping at 52:28 before Ryan Gunderson made it 2-1 Brynäs at 53:48. Sebastian Enterfeldet added 3-1 in the empty-net.

Skellefteå failed to score at home against Växjö and lost 2-0. Steve Saviano and Liam Reddox scored for the guests. Fredrik Norrena in Växjö's net saved 29 shots for the shutout.

Dave Spina and Björn Svensson scored when MODO won its first 3-pointer of the season. Dennis Everberg scored for the losing side Rögle.
