All three games today were won by teams of the same division.
At the begin of this year's KHL season there is one division that stands out - Tarasov Division. Only six points is the difference between the first and fifth place and the last of the division also has already 8 points - best figure in the league together with Avangard Omsk of Chernyshyov Division.
Spartak Moscow - Atlant Moscow Oblast 2-5Five minutes were enough to give Atlant all three points and let them defend their lead in Tarasov Division. Andrei Shefer had opened the score for Spartak at 5:14 in power play before Nikolai Zherdev, also with the men advantage, tied the match few minutes later. The desicive phase of the game came between the 38th and 43rd minute when Igor Ignatushkin, Perttu Lindgren and Zherdev with his second earned a three-goal lead for Atlant. Mikhail Yunkov tried to get Spartak back in fighting distance with his strike at 51:00 but with 24 seconds left on the clock Andreas Engqvist scored the final 2-5.
Lokomotiv Yaroslavl - Donbass Donetsk 2-1For a long time it looked like Donbass could get important away points after Petteri Wirtanen had brought them in front in a power play at 22:04. With a double at the begin of the third period Lokomotiv turned around the result completely through Niklas Hagman and Alexander Chernikov. For the last one and a half minutes Erik Ersberg left the Donbass net but also with the additional attacker the Ukrainians couldn't score another one. For Donbass it was already the fifth loss with just one goal difference while Lokomotiv gained its third win on home ice in a row.
Torpedo Nizhni Novgorod - Dinamo Riga 3-2 It was a tough start into the season for Torpedo but with their second consecutive home win they climbed onto the fourth position in their division. After the first two periods the hosts led the game with goals by Mikhail Varnakov and Evgeny Varlamov while Miks Indrasis had scored the equalizer for the Latvians. At 48:33 Kaspars Daugavins tied the match again for Riga but Torpedo found the right reaction with the 3-2 through Ruslan Zainullin just 18 seconds later. Riga has a really unstable campaign by now.
