Good day for the visitors. Only Spartak managed to win at home
Again there was a full house in Bratislava when the Slovakian KHL newcomers received Dynamo Moscow with their top lockout player Alexander Ovechkin. And the Russian forward who usually plays for the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League, was a key player in the win of the Russians. First he gave an assist to Denis Kokarev at 05:36 before he did the second one himself in power play, assisted by Mikhail Anisin, still in the first period. The hosts were only dangerous through Miroslav Satan who twice cut the Dynamo lead but in the end the goal of Grigory Shafigulin at the begin of the third period turned out to be the game winner. For Dynamo it was the fifth consecutive win while Slovan lost three out of the last four matches.
Dinamo Riga plays a complete up-and-down season. Today they lost another home match, this time against Severstal Cherepovets. After an assists by Vadim Shipachyov it was Gennady Stolyarov whose goal was the only one in the match. Vasily Koshechkin in the Severstal net had a calm day with a 26-save shutout.
Also the third non-Russian team that played today in KHL lost. Against outsiders Vityaz Chekhov home side Donbass Donetsk from Ukraine couldn't get away from the bottom position in Bobrov Division. Artemy Panarin with a penalty shot and Alexei Badyukov scored for Vityaz, Jani Tuppurainen only scored the equalizer in the middle period.
Spartak Moscow earned their second win in a row by defeating Belarussian side Dinamo Minsk. After two periods they were already in front with four goals, scored by Yegor Mikhailov, Andrei Shefer, Anatoly Nikontsev and Andrei Ankudinov. At 46:12 Tim Stapleton only managed to get the consolidation goal for the guests. Spartak now is fifth in Tarasov Division and has good chances to come even higher in the league standings - but there is one negative point for Spartak - attendance. Today only 1,449 people showed up in a game of the biggest league in Europe.
At the moment Ak Bars Kazan has not their best momentum. Against archrivals Salavat Yulayev Ufa they received their fourth consecutive loss. They were up 2-1 and 3-2 but Igor Mirnov tied the match for Ufa at 40:35. In the shootout Alexander Stepanov won the extra point for Ufa.
