By now current champions Berlin seem to have found their top form. Today they beat Iserlohn 7-1.
The day in DEL started with a 5-4 away win of league leaders Kölner Haie in Nürnberg against the local Ice Tigers. Cologne had earned a two-goal lead in the first ten minutes of play which was later tied by Nürnberg. With three early goals in the third period the Sharks pathed the way for their away win but Eric Choinard and Patrick Reimer kept the result close.
Adler Mannheim had to wait very long before Michael Glumac and Marcus Kink won the three points against bottom side Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg in the lats 73 seconds of play. Before the guests had twice tied the Mannheim lead in the first two periods.
Brian Roloff and Stephen Werner were the only goal scorers in the Augsburger Panther win in the Bavarian derby against the Straubing Tigers. With a 27 save shutout Patrick Ehelechner made sure the hosts would stay in touch with the top places.
14,100 fans in the O2 World in Berlin saw a spectacular finnish with 8 goals in the last period. Six different goal scorers - only Matt Foy scored twice - made possible a 7-1 win of the Eisbären Berlin. Robert Hock only managed to get the consolidation goal for second-last Iserlohn Roosters.
Another top team that won today is ERC Ingolstadt. In Munich they beat the Red Bulls 2-1. Thomas Greilinger and Derek Hahn earned bothan assist and a goal while their line partner Michel Périard assisted in both strikes. At 45:49 Viktor Ekbom could only cut the lead for the Red Bulls but nothing more.
Thanks to two strikes by NHL star Christian Ehrhoff the Krefeld Pinguine changed positions with Nürnberg and are now 6th in the DEL table. In Hannover they beat the Scorpions with the result of 3-1
The young team of the Düsseldorfer EG won clearly with 6-2 against the Hamburg Freezers. Only Jerome Flaake with a double could get the Freezers on the scoreboard.
