Japan promoted to 1B and Spain relegated to 2B.
Japan promoted to next year's IIHF U20 World Championships Division 1B by winning the Division 2A played in Romania. Japan won all the five games with a margin of three goals or more.
Japan won a key game on day 1 beating second placed Hungary
7-2 despite being down 1-2 after two periods. The Hungarians put themselves in penalty trouble to allow Japan to score four power play goals in the third period.
Hosts Romania finished in third place, before Netherlands and Lithuania while finished last with all losses and is relegated to Division 2B.
Individually Netherlands Tony Ras was the top scorer with an impressive twelve points in five games, however Romania's Roberto Gliga was given the best forward award despite only being ninth in scoring. Gliga's team mate Zoltan Toke was the best goalie while the champions Hiroto Sato was the best defenseman.
