The fans in the KHL only saw four goals in two games today. Ak Bars beat CSKA in the top game whilte Vityaz was shut out against Severstal.
Top side CSKA Moscow wasn't able to avoid their second consecutive home loss - a 1-2 defeat against Ak Bars Kazan - despite gaining the lead through Patrick Davis at 25:19. Still in the same period a double by Kirill Petrov turned the result around in favour of the guests. CSKA goalie Rastislav Stana left his net during the lats minute for an additional attacker but they couldn't force the equalizer anymore. For Ak Bars it was the 6th win in the last 7 matches.
Vasily Koshechkin was a huge help in Severstal Cherepovets' away win against Vityaz Chekhov when he earned a 34-save shutout. In an incredibly one-sided first period with 23-5 shots on goal for Severstal, Peter Ceslava brought the guests in front at 18:24. In the following time Severstal defended their small advantage until the final whistle. Ivan Kasutin left his net for the last 17 seconds but it was too late for a Vityaz reaction.
