Frk scores two goals when the Czech Republic won their second win, leaving Latvia without any points in the first round.
With 40-20 in shots on goal, 4-2 was a logical result but it wasn't until late the Czechs scored the goals that secured their win.
Petr Beranek made it 1-0 halfway through the first after a beautiful assist by Jan Stencel who left Beranek with an open net to score on. The Czechs had most of the possesion but Latvia tied it late in the period when Nikita Jevpalovs found the net on the power play.
Early in the second there was another power play goal scored, this time by Martin Frk for the Czechs. That was the only goal of the period.
In the third period it was Latvia's time to score early, when Robert Lipsbergs scored on the rebound from his brother's Kriss' shot.
Latvia held the game tied for twelve minutes before Dmitrij Jaskin scored the game winner for the Czechs. "I just got the puck and made a fake and then took a shot. I was just trying to get it on the net. I was lucky," Jaskin said about his goal.
With less than half a minute left of the game Marin Frk scored his second goal of the game making the final score 4-2. A result that send Latvia to the relegation round. For the Czechs everything can still happen. They can go directly to the semi finals or even end up in the relegation round. The game against Switzerland and the one between Sweden and Finland will set the fate for the Czechs.
