Canadian forward uncannily left Donbas bench after first period during game against Metallurg Zhlobin
Belarusian media reports today a possible explanation for the uncannily leaving of Canadian forward Randy Robitaille after the first period of Continantal Cup game held in Donetsk between home team
Donbas and Metallurg ZhlobinProbably
Randy Robitaille did not have the right to play in the Jan. 11 game against Metallurg. In the post-match interview with the Ukrainian club coach Julius Shupler, he indirectly confirmed the information about the Robitaille affair replying that the Canadian left the bench after the first period for a reason known by the leadership of the club. Note, however, that
the information is unofficial. The situation is expected to clear up until noon on January 12
Perhaps Robitaille, recently traded to Donbas from Metallurg Novokuznetsk, had not spent enough matches for the Ukrainian club. According to the regulations, in the final of the Continental Cup can be alligned players who played at least three games for the team before the tournament, while Robitaille played two games in KHL for Donbas
