Belarusian team says goodbye to winning chances after slamming on Italian wall
A siege: this is the best word to resume the opening game of last Continental Cup round between Metallurg Zhlobin - with again some remote chance of achieve the trophy - and already eliminated Bolzano. Apparently the easiest chalenge for Zhlobin, considering the bad campaign of Foxes: 1-6 against rouen and 0-3 vs Donbas.
But as in yesterday game against home team, Bolzano clames up in front of a stunning Tomas Duba: the czech goalie was the absolut star, braving the storm of pucks raining against his cage while his teammate produced a poor thre (!!) shots on Michalkov cage in the first 40 minutes, even if one of two conclusion was a capital chance wasted by Mac Gregor Sharp.
The third period, with Belarusian tired, was more balanced and also Michaklov has some work. The Italian fort stand up until shootouts, where ironically, almost all the snipers score. In the fouth round Mac Gregor Sharp mistake is decisive, because Aleksei Efimenko scores his try and gives Metallurg two useless points. Now it's just a matter between Donbas and Rouen, but French team has to score 3 goals more to keep the trophy
MVP: Andrei Spiridonov - Tomas Duba
