Skellefteå AIK - HV 71 4 - 2
Skellefteå continue to impress. Tonight the second placed team HV71 was outshot 34-20 and beaten 4-2. Jesper Fasth scored for HV71 after a minute of play but Skellefteå replied three times in the first period. Johan Forsberg, Petter Emanuelsson and Pierre-Edouard Bellemare scored the goals. Martin Lundberg increased the lead to 4-1 early in the second. Lundberg then was ejected from the game at the end of the same period after a big fight. It all started with the HV71 captain Johan Davidsson crashing into Skellefteå's goalie Joacim Eriksson in the final seconds of the period. Eriksson put his glove in the face of Davidsson. When the intermission started Marcus Nilson of HV71 went after Eriksson and a massive fight started. Nilson and Per Ledin from HV71 and Lundberg and Bellemare from Skellefteå were all sent off for the game. The only goal of the third period was scored eight seconds before the end by Jason Krog of HV71.
AIK - MODO Hockey 1 - 2 (OT)
Joonas Lehtivuori scored at 3:22 of the overtime when MODO beat AIK in Stockholm. Patric Blomdahl had scored 1-0 for AIK in the first period and Mattias Ritola tied it in the second.
Luleå HF - Växjö Lakers HC 3 - 2 (SO)
For the ninth game (most in Elitserien) a Luleå game had to be decided in a shootout and for the fifth time Luleå was successful. Linus Klasen and Kim Hirschovits scored for Luleå in the shootout while both Tomi Kallio and Steve Saviano missed for Växjö. Växjö took the lead twice. First on a goal by Gustav Hjalmarsson and later by Kalle Kaijomaa. But Luleå tied it both times. First by the veteran Jan Sandström and 1:49 before the end of the game Daniel Gunnarsson scored to deny Växjö the points they needed so much.
