Canadian coach signed until the end of World Championship
Hungarian Federation announced 50-year-old Canadian Rich Chernomaz was appointed as new national team coach until the end of World Championship Division I A in April.
Chernomaz coaching career is almost in Germany, where he leads Schwenninger Wild Wings, Kolner Haie, Augsburger Panthers, Frankfurt Lions and from 2010 ERC Ingolstadt
"First and foremost I want to thank the Hungarian Ice Hockey Federation, for giving me the opportunity to lead and prepare the national team for the upcoming Division I World Championship - said Chernomaz. - "The IHWC in Budapest provides an excellent opportunity and a challenge to achieve our goals, that's be promoted to the 2014 World Championship. Along with my staff and with the best of my knowledge, I will prepare and lead the team in order to achieve the best possible place. All our opponents (Great Britain, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Italy and Japan) invested a lot of time and money in their program to achieve our same goal.Hard work, discipline, passion and pride have to be our virtues, and the key to our success."
Csaba Kovacs, vice president of the Hungarian Federation, declared:"Rich was chosen because it was liberated by Ingolstadt, and thus he will be fully able to concentrate on this work."
