Linz triumphs in game 3

Linz were triumphant in game 3 of this season's EBEL playoffs. They demounted KAC in front of the home crowd. Salzburg recorded a win that could turn the series around.
Linz - KAC 4:1 (Linz lead series 2-1)

supporters were joyful after Martin
Mairitsch and Mike Ouellette
finished off KAC in the last two minutes. René
Swette started in net for KAC, but wasn't the happiest man in the arena
after 60 minutes of hockey. Linz started strong and after two periods it was
2:0 for the home team. Curtis Murphy
took advantage of the powerplay in the first while Andrew Hedlund scored on Tyler
Scofield's penalty by mid second period. KAC regained hopes through Jaime Lundmark 4 minutes into the
third, on yet another powerplay, but then the afore mentioned two sealed the
deal for Linz who are a step closer to Grand Finale.
Vienna - Salzburg 1:3 (Salzburg lead series 2-1)
After
a tough loss in the first game of the series, Salzburg obviously recuperated
good and now have two wins in a row. After a win in Salzburg, visitors' coach Pierre Pagé had even more confidence in
young Slovene Luka Gracnar who is
now at 92,4 SVS%. After 11 minutes of play only one penalty was drawn, Yorick Treille was called for
interference (06:39 into the game), nevertheless Salzburg got the lead in the 12th
minute. Mark Cullen and Rob Schremp were on assists to Thomas Raffl who fires one home. Soon
after second period started Ryan Duncan
slips one by Matt Zaba to double up
the lead. Last twenty minutes brought two goals, one on each respective side.
First Justin Keller reduces the
lead, though 5 minutes later Andreas
Kristler scores to regain the two-goal lead. The Capitals even tried to
play with extra attacker by the end, but couldn't score.
