Färjestad was the second team, after Skellefteå, to advance to the Swedish semi finals. The series against MODO was won 4-1 after an overtime win tonight.

After 60 minutes of play the fifth game of the Elitserien quarter final series between Färjestad and MODO was still scoreless. Alexander Salak in the home net had made 26 saves while the guests young goalie Linus Ullmark had made 38.
The overtime period was short and saw only one shot. After 57 seconds Rickard Wallin scored the only goal of the game assisted by Marcus Paulsson and Ole Kristian Tollefsen and Färjestad had qualified for the next stage of the playoffs. The goal was scored with a bit of luck as Jonas Ahnelöv of MODO had lost his stick and couldn't stop Paulsson from passing the puck to Wallin.
"It's hard, this is the worst time", says MODO's coach Ulf Samuelsson to C More. "You build up a whole year and then you see the guys fight as hard as they do. And then you see and feel the disappointment in the locker room. There are 22 grown up men almost crying".
