Asiago celebrates the third title in last four seasons winning 4-1 the unprecedented final series against Valpellice
Third title in last four years: Asiago extends its dominance in Italian
hockey capturing the 2012-13 Serie A with the decisive away victory 6-5 at
overtime in finals game #5 against Valpellice. Layne Ulmer scored the
decisive goal after 22 seconds in the overtime, his goal number 19 in
the playoffs. Asiago first line was devastating and decisive in
playoffs, after a mediocre regular season: Chris DiDomenico - regular
season top scorer Sean Bentivoglio and Ulmer amassing a total of 42
goals and 68 assists in 15 games.
Valpellice won Italian Cup in January, the first title of its history, and played for the first a playoffs finals, closing a very positive season.
Negative season for South Tyrol teams: champion Bolzano was knocked out by Asiago in quarter finals, regular season winner Renon surprisingly lost in quarter finals against underdog Cortina and Val Pusteria's dreams of a title were stopped in semifinals by Asiago
