Cologne beat Wolfsbug with the minimum result to get a 2-0 lead in the DEL playoff semifinals. In the other series Berlin beat Krefeld at home to also get their second win.

Two days after a solid 7-2 home win Köln made another big step towards the playoff finals of DEL by beating Wolfsburg on the road through a lone goal by Chris Minard already at 07:17 after receiving a pass by Philip Gogulla inside the slot. Before the guests were lucky when Wolfsburg hit the goal post in the second minute. In the middle period the hosts were the more active team but once more the goal post avoided the equalizer. In the last 20 minutes the home side tried everything to get the puck past Danny aus den Birken but the Haie goalie earned his second shutout of this year's playoffs with a total of 32 saves. Now Köln can make everything clear on Sunday on home ice with a sweep in this Best-of-Five series.

Eisbären Berlin (4) - Krefeld Pinguine (3) 5-2
In a with 14,200 fans sold out O2 Wold in Berlin hosts Eisbären defeated Krefeld thanks to a strong middle period performance. Mads Christensen brought Berlin in front late in the first period but still Kevin Clark scored the equalizer even before the first intermission when only 11 seconds were left on the clock. Constantin Braun in a 5 on 4 power play and Julian Talbot with the 5 on 3 pathed the way for the home win but Mitja Robar cut the lead again for Krefeld at 32:31, also with the man advantage. Corey Locke and Danish international Mads Christensen made everything clear in the following minutes. In an even third period the result didn't change anymore. On Sunday afternoon Berlin have the chance for a sweep in this series.
