USA dominated the semi final against Finland, especially in the second period with 24-3 in shots on goal. But it took until 53:55 for USA to open the score when Hilary Knight scored. Monique Lamoureux added 2-0 shortly after and at the end the US team added a third goal in a empty net.

In the other semi final Canada won easily 8-1 against Russia. Canada opened the scoring late in the first and quickly went up to 4-0 at beginning of the second before Russia got a goal on the board only to see Canada add four more goals. Marie-Philip Poulin was the only player two score twice.

The semi final results sets up for an expected final between the North American giants while Finland and Russia will battle for bronze. Germany grabbed sixth place after a 5-3 win against Switzlerand who couldn't repeat last year's bronze success.

In the relgation round Sweden saved their pride but ending the tournament with a 4-0 against the Czech Republic, a result that sent the Czechs to division 1. The Czechs dominated the first period but didn't score. Sweden then took over and added two goals each in second and third period.
