Croatia was unbeaten and won World Championship division 2A in style.
At home ice in Zagreb Croatia had a quite comfortable journey to promote to division 1B. Even if the games against Australia (3-1) and Serbia was (6-4) was quite close, Croatia was clearly the best team of the group and finished with 15 out of 15 points, six points ahead of Belgium that finished second.
Croatia and Belgium played a decisive game on the last day but it was a one-sided story that Croatia won easily 6-0. Iceland made their best result ever with a third place. Australia was fourth and Serbia placed fifth. Spain had a terrible tournament and was some what surprisingly relegated without any points at all.
Two former Croatian/Canadians topped the scoring list, John Hecimovic and Joel Prpic with 12 and 11 points. Prpic was also selected best forward, a good effort by the 38 year old considering that he retired after last season. Andy Sertich another Croatian raised in North America (USA) was best defender while Belgium's Bjorn Steijlen was best goalie.
