Russia still perfect

The two teams with a still perfect record of the Helsinki group, Russia and USA, faced each other tonight. Russia stays atop of the group with a 5-3 win.
The game between the top teams of the Helsinki group of the World Championship started with a wild first period where the teams scored a couple of goals each. Russia was the stronger team during the second half of the game to win it 5-3.
USA had the lead twice, 2-1 and 3-2, but Russia tied it rather quickly on both occasions. In the third period Yevgeny Medvedev scored game-winning 4-3 at 53:35 and Alexander Radulov secured the win with a power play goal less than two minutes later.
Russia opened the scoring with a goal by Anton Belov after five minutes of play. The American captain Paul Stastny then scored two goals in two and a half minute in the middle of the first period to take USA ahead. The lead only lasted for 36 seconds before Ilya Kovalchuk tied it.
The Americans returned to the lead when Matt Hunwick beat Ilya Bryzgalov at 27:09. Four minutes later Alexei Tereshenko tied it again.
Russia dominated the third period and got away with the win thanks to Medvedev's and Radulov's goals. USA pulled Ben Bishop from the net at 57:47 but were never close to scoring a fourth goal.
